CanPowerSkate is a Skate Canada program designed to enhance the skating skills for hockey and ringette players. The program has been aligned with LTAD philosophies to accompany Hockey Canada and Ringette Canada’s programming at the Learn to Play and Learn to Train Stage of LTAD.
Hockey players at the Novice, Atom, Pee Wee and Bantam levels and ringette players at the U12 (Petite) and U14 (Tween) levels would benefit most from this program.
GroupSTAR is a junior figure skating program that introduces skaters to the sport of figure skating and its disciplines (freeskate, skills and ice dance) in a fun, positive and challenging format.
StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating
CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Check out our Adult Teen CanSkate program!

Currently, Crowchild Skating Club has vacancies on its Board of Directors. We are seeking applicants with a background in board leadership and a strategic outlook to support the Club’s growth strategy. The Board of Directors endeavors to have balanced community perspectives and a complementary mixture of knowledge, skills and experience. We would especially encourage applications from interested persons with experience with sports clubs, board positions, finance, legal, IT or human resources. We are seeking individuals who possess an understanding of governance; an ability to think strategically and to work as part of a team. Honesty and integrity are a must. Prospective board members would be able to commit to monthly board meetings held on the third Tuesday of each month 7:00-9:00pm, Sept 2019-June 2020.
The CSC has been in operations for 30 years and serves many communities in the NW part of Calgary. The Club is in the process of transition as we implement new Skate Canada programs and establish the Club as a Society.
The Crowchild Skating Club operates out of the Crowchild Twin Arena in NW Calgary. We offer a full range of programs including CanSkate, STARSkate, Adult/Teen CanSkate and competitive figure skating. Our skating season runs September to April on 10.75 hours of ice time per week. In partnership, we also offer spring and summer camps in June and July.
